Women Economic Empowerment

Due to low social status and gender based discriminations in developing countries like Ethiopia, women and girls have not been fully participating and benefiting from development endeavors. Mainstreaming cross-cutting issue of gender across project management cycles is crucial for the success and sustainability of development programs.

SSD believes that addressing gender inequality is central to achieving sustainable development. SSD mainly intends to support women to achieve equitable economic and social positions in their communities through facilitating women income generating activities and incorporating gender equality concept by way of providing equal obligations, equal opportunities and equal power for both women and men in its projects.
